It was 2007, and I was pastoring Faith Church in Detroit, Michigan. I was informed by one of my elders that his uncle, who was more like his brother, was coming to Detroit after living in Maryland. I remember Elder telling me that they were raised together, and the relationship was more like brothers, than nephew and uncle. Their names were Rodger and Marcia Ramocan.

The first Sunday they attended, was filled with joy and excitement for the church because of his jovial laughter ("Blessed by the best, in spite of the test"), and her beautiful smile. Their three children, Chad, Priscilla, and Sunita, sat right beside them quietly. ​After services, they all came forward and committed themselves to the ministry. Their love and faithfulness for the saints of God was very obvious.

In 2010, Pastor Rodger, and Pastor Marcia returned to Jamaica and began "Link by Link" ministries and submitted the ministry to the F.A.M.I. organization. The Lord used them both mightily, and other ministries were birthed through their faithfulness. Pastor Marcia was led to begin "Daughters of Destiny", "Reading and Grow", and "Victorious Widows".

 

Pastor Rodger went home to be with the Lord in October 2020, and Pastor Marcia, went home to be with the Lord in July 2021. The entire F.A.M.I. organization will miss them immensely.  We are grateful to God for the time we had together, the memories, and the fruitful labor God allowed us to do together.
